　　隨時搜集匯整一些美髮『技術書』、『網頁』常見的英文用語，讓自己多接觸、常記錄、多使用、廣分享，我確信不怕多、不怕難，只要有心、日積月累必可讓自己有更多的見聞，因為第一手資料的穫取是不容遲緩的。

　　以下是依據英文字首作分類，每個常見英文用語後面是對照的中譯用法，及英文單字相關的使用範例。內容若有錯誤，請不吝留言指教。

Layer：高層次--以90度以上的提拉方式剪髮，形成上短下長的層次效果。內部的(internal)髮長短於外部的(external)髮長。

Layer haircut：高層次剪法-Definition: A popular haircut which is performed entirely with shears. Hair is cut in uniform "layers"

The layered haircut is a well known style that many beautiful women of all hair lengths, types and colors favor. all over the head. The cut can be as long or short as desired and can be a very versatile cut.
The rounded layer haircut is best for curly hairstyles.
Single layer haircut is very easy to style.
Layer haircut on short hair is one good option for people who want to make their hair look thicker.
A wispy layer haircut is very complementary haircut for square face shape.

Leave down：放下

Leave down approximately one-quarter to one-half inch (1.5cm) along the perimeter.
To cut the hair in this style, you should section the hair and leave down a ½-inch perimeter around the head and whatever area you want to have for the bangs.
I braid my hair ever summer because it is too hot to leave down.
Many girls have side bangs that they like to pin up or just leave down.
Leave down one half and braid the other half.
Are you wearing an updo, leave down or half do?
Creating a straightened hair look, which you can style as you choose in a bun or updo, or leave down and use your straighteners to create curls at the bottom of long hair.

Left side：左側,左邊

Natural hair color level indicates the degree of lightness or darkness of a color.
Every color can be made lighter or darker, ultimately changing the level. This can be done by adding white or black.
Understanding where natural hair falls on the Natural Hair Color Level scale is very important to the creation, formulation and matching of hair colors.

Lifestyle：生活方式

The main objective is to make your haircut as distinctly unique and expressive of your character and/or lifestyle.
If you find yourself wearing a ponytail or ball cap to keep the hair out of your face, then perhaps it is time for a new haircut better suited to your lifestyle.
Your lifestyle and profession can often influence how much time you have to care for your hair and style it to keep it looking great.
This is my preachy way of saying your lifestyle - not a magazine, not a celebrity - should be among the first things you consider when choosing a hairstyle.
Our hair is said to be the mirror of our diet, lifestyle and even our health.
Have a look how different state of hair represent different lifestyle?
Unhealthy lifestyle blocks the blood flow to roots of hair thereby leading to hair shed.
The net result is to stay healthy, have proper diet and have a proper lifestyle.
Change the way you look with the latest hairstyle or haircuts that suits your professional or casual lifestyle.
Hairstyle for men completely depends on their facial shape, hair type and lifestyle.
Understanding a client's lifestyle is important to develop a strong visual image, combine trends with cutting techniques to create an appropriate hairstyle.
Short hair cut should match(和...相稱) your face shape, personality, career, lifestyle, body shape, hair color and texture, eye color and others.

Lift：提高----帶到一個高度的位置，形容去掉毛髮自然色素的行為，或剪髮的行為。

Position of head and neck is adjusted for minimum lift and natural fall of hair.
The hair is styled for lift at the scalp and smoothness along the top, crown and at the sides to the weight line.
Add height to your haircut with layers that give lift at the crown.
Can you lift hair just using a higher oxigenta with hair color?
The strength of the developer determines the amount of lift in the haircolor.

Lift up：舉起,抬起,提高[(+up)]

Lift up your face up to the sky and keep your chin all the way up, gather all of your hair together in one.
You can lift up your hair in the upper part of the head, leaving smaller amount of hair besides and behind the ears.
A round face would suit a haircut that will lift up your facial features.
Backbrushing is when you lift up a section of your hair and brush it from the tip towards your head, basically just combing it backwards.
Put the product in your bangs and lift up the section with a comb.

Lightness：明亮;光亮度,(顏色的)淺淡

Lightness is a property of a color, or a dimension of a color space, that is defined in a way to reflect the subjective brightness perception of a color for humans.
The Munsell value is an example of a lightness scale.
Value is a measure of where a particular color lies along the lightness–darkness axis.
The HSV color model and Munsell color model have an explicit value, while the HSL color model uses a related parameter called lightness instead.
The Munsell value has long been used as a perceptually uniform lightnessscale.
When we talk about value as an element of art, we are referring to the lightness or darkness of an object.
Permanent hair color is may be the most utilized because of its capability to affect the hair in stage like lightness or darkness as well as tone, but it comes with a exclusive set of potential problems, such as the require to often reapply, unwanted fading and hot roots.

Line：線--設計的要素之一。

You also want to avoid putting most of the weight of a haircut at the jaw line and below.

Liquid bleach：漂白劑-a solution containing bleaching agents; used for laundry.

Liquid bleach is usually aqueous Sodium Hypochorite, a sodium salt of Hydrochloric acid.
There's no way you can pour倒 liquid bleach on your hair without it dripping down your face or your neck.
Household liquid bleach is a basic chemical, with a fairly high pH of about 10.
Any liquid bleach should be sufficient for removing sweat stains from clothes.
Liquid Bleach cannot be used for silk and woollen clothes.

Long face shape：長型臉

With a long face shape you will need short to medium length hairstyles.
If you fall in long face shape category your face needs shortening and widening.
Hairstyles for this long face shape should add width and fullness to the sides of the face and around the eyes, ears and cheekbones.
A long face shape is one of the most difficult face shapes to have.
The key to a good haircut if you have a long face shape is texture.

Loop ：鬟

The half pony is often used as a basis for a series of updos where the bottom hair is then pulled up and then integrated into a series of curls, loop or knots.
French loop style is an elegant hairstyle designed specifically for long hair.
To make the French loop, gather your hair in a ponytail and twist some part of the hair, leaving the ends free.
French loop fashion is a chic hairstyle designed specifically for lengthy hair.
The updo is simple, stylish and twists hair that are fanned about a ponytail hair loop.
The hair is brushed up towards the crown and a creative loop design is produced.
This updo has a fancy pony loop at the back with sleek.
Take a one-inch piece of hair from the ponytail, bending it underneath to make a loop, and pinning the end of the loop at the elastic band.
The hair from the back is loop bun.
To create loop bun - first make a tight ponytail, take small hair section at a time and loop using fingers or comb and pin them up.

Low elevation：低提拉

Part out a section from the apex to the outer corner of the fringe and direct forward at low elevation.

Lowlighting：用挑染把頭髮的安底色明度降低(變暗) Adding darker colored segments into lighter hair is called lowlighting.

Hair lowlighting and highlighting are techniques best left to a professional hair stylist.
Work the color through the sections of hair that you are lowlighting with the foil.
They specialize in areas such as traditional & creative hair coloring, corrective coloring, dimensional highlighting and lowlighting.
Lowlighting is often used to break up over-lightened hair and add dimension.
Lowlighting means darker strands are woven into the lighter ones creating more depth & drama.

Lustrous：有光澤的;光亮的

Every man envisions a beautiful woman with long, lustrous and silky hair.
Most of us have great shiny and lustrous hair, but we simply forget to take care of them.
Beautiful and lustrous hair is the most lustrous possession of an individual.
For weighty down locks頭髮 you need to decrease the quality to make your hair look lustrous.
